‘Fantasy Focus’ Comes to Your Phone

Tuesday, May 5th, 2009

Earlier this year, we found out about Rotowire’s Fantasy Focus being dropped — along with other fantasy sports programming — from XM satellite radio.

Well, the baseball show hosted by Jeff Erickson not only found a new home on BlogTalkRadio, but you can also access it via a new medium.

Rotowire reached a deal with Foneshow to deliver daily three- to four-minute editions of the show to mobile customers.

Foneshow, which was founded back in 2006, offers anyone with a cell phone the opportunity to subscribe to a show feed for free. Once you have, a text message is sent to your phone each time a new show is available. According to the press release, customers can then click on the phone number embedded in that message to listen to the show “just as if listening to a phone call.”

Foneshow has also presented ESPN’s Fantasy Focus football show and a fantasy hockey broadcast from Sports Grumblings on its network, which it says is accessible for 250 million cell phones in the United States and 2.7 billion worldwide.
